Squeakys Valeting & Detailing:
a cinematic homepage

A scroll-controlled studio film that walks visitors round a car and into its cabin, revealing each detailing service on the way, then hands them a clear package chooser and a one-tap call to book.

Squeakys homepage on desktop: an olive-green performance saloon in a dark studio, with the heading Exterior detailing, a View exterior packages button and chapter links for Exterior, Inside and out, and Interior
Squeakys homepage on a phone: the car's cabin shown as a full-width landscape strip, with the heading Interior-only detailing and a View interior packages button below it

Screenshots of the build taken in Chrome during testing on 14 October 2026, on a 1440 × 900 desktop and a 390 × 844 phone screen. They are real screenshots, not mock-ups. The car footage is a supplied studio film used to illustrate the services; it isn't a Squeakys customer's car.

The brief

Show the standard,
then make booking easy

Squeakys is a mobile valeting and detailing business: the team comes to the customer. Bookings are taken by phone, and the existing website runs on Squarespace with package pages for cars, vans, caravans and lorries.

The homepage needed to do two jobs. First, show the level of care in a way a list of services can't: the gloss on the paintwork, the finish inside the cabin. Second, get a visitor from that first impression to the right package and a phone call without making them hunt for it.

It also had to sit inside the existing Squarespace site without disturbing the other pages, the booking route or the site's search setup.

Design decisions

Motion that
leads somewhere

Phones, tablets, desktops

Built for the screen
in your hand

On desktop the film fills the screen edge to edge, with the copy placed in the empty studio space above the car. On phones, cropping a landscape film to a tall screen would cut the car in half, so phones get their own lighter set of frames shown as a full-width strip, with the heading and button underneath.

Not everyone wants, or can run, a scroll animation. Visitors who ask for reduced motion, browse without JavaScript, use data-saver mode or whose frames fail to load get three ordinary service sections with still images and the full package tables instead.

  • Separate desktop and phone frame sets, so phones download far less
  • A still image appears immediately while the rest of the film loads in the background
  • Reduced-motion and no-JavaScript versions with every service and price still visible
  • Keyboard-friendly chapter links and buttons

The enquiry journey

From first scroll
to a booked detail

  1. See the standard

The film shows the finish Squeakys works to, one service at a time.

  2. Pick a service

A chapter button opens the chooser with that service already selected.

  3. Choose a package

Emerald, Ruby and Diamond, priced by service and vehicle size, taken from the live packages page.

  4. Call to book

The chosen package stays on screen beside a tap-to-call button, so the conversation starts with the right detail.

Outcomes

What we can show,
and what's next

Checked in testing. In local lab tests the first image appeared in about a quarter of a second and the largest image in under half a second. Across more than a hundred rapid scroll tests on desktop and phone sizes, the copy never fell out of step with the picture. The reduced-motion and no-JavaScript versions kept every service, price and booking route. These are lab checks on our own machine, not measurements from real visitors.

Not measured yet. Squeakys takes bookings by phone and had no call tracking in place, so we can't yet say how many enquiries the new homepage has produced, and we won't guess.

What we'll measure next:

  • Taps on the call button (a tap is interest, not a booking)
  • Which service chapters and packages visitors open most
  • Asking new callers how they found Squeakys
  • Searches that lead to squeakysvnd.co.uk in Google Search Console
